Secrets of an Auction Millionaire

According to Adam Ginsberg, one well known fact about the income earning potential of eBay is that it is a gold mine; a gold mine with enough for everyone. I know you lay awake at night thinking about the riches there to be made on eBay with a hankering you can hardly contain wanting to jump right in to begin scooping up buckets full of cash. And, Adam Ginsberg suggests that you don’t jump into selling on eBay without a plan of action!

If you’re new to eBay you might want to consider a free trial of Adam Ginsberg’s Secrets of an Auction Millionaire System.  He’ll show you, right off the bat, exactly how you should start with opening an eBay account and how to create your eBay user ID.  Think about being known on eBay as “tonsoftools” when you are selling literally TONS of tools every week. You definitely want your eBay ID to match the products you are selling.

You should then register for a PayPal account so you have a way to receive all the money you will make from using Adam Ginsberg’s strategies for selling on eBay. You will also pay for your shipping through PayPal and of course it will be a way for you to pay your eBay fees.

Millions of people shop on eBay every day and eBay is the number one online shopping destination for people looking for a great deal.  By following a step by step plan you can be successful – and have tons of fun – selling on eBay!

Make sure to observe other sellers on eBay.  Watch what they sell and how they sell it.  Look at their titles and their item descriptions.  What do their pictures look like?  What information is contained in each listing?  What are their seller terms?  Make notes of what you like and what you don’t like – so you can compile a list of eBay best practices.

An example of important issues to address in your terms: International shipping.  In other words, where will you ship to?  If you sell internationally it could be a big project related to customs, tariffs and/or special fees… and you might not be ready for that.

Be clear in your terms.  Do you accept refunds?  If you do, what are the conditions of the refund?  Will you offer free shipping OR do you offer combined shipping discounts. Spell these out in your terms so there is no guessing. Protect yourself with your terms but also be sure you are not turning away customers because your turns are confusing. This is why I suggest that you visit other sellers listings and in particular, look for the power sellers and what they do and how their terms are worded take a note from then as what you need to do for yours.

Now it’s time to get started making money on eBay!

Adam Ginsberg: Finding Hot Products to Sell on eBay

Written by admin on . Posted in Adam Ginsberg Success

I am an Adam Ginsberg student.  From the amazing information I’ve learned from Adam Ginsberg I make money on eBay.  It all started in 2005 when I read Adam Ginsberg’s best selling eBay book – the best book on how to make money on eBay that I’ve ever read.

When I first started buying and selling on eBay back in 2005 I sold mostly stuff from around the house or purchased from garage sales in the area. But, since then my eBay business has evolved somewhat to finding hot items and then finding a wholesaler or a dropshipper to provide those items. From there it morphed into using Adam Ginsberg’s Template Optimizer Software – with more hot selling drop ship products built into this automated professional software eBay listing tool.  This is the method that I use to find what is hot right now on eBay.  Here’s the basic approach:

Search the CategoriesGo to eBay’s home page at eBay.com and on the left side where it says “Shop Your Favorite Categories” scroll to the bottom and click on “view all categories”.Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and click on “See Item Counts” on the right. It will automatically change to show you all the categories and sub categories with the amount of current listings in them. This will give you information on how popular it is with the sellers. Hold on and I’ll explain later about how to find out how popular it is with the buyers.eBay PulseNext you will want to go to pulse.eBay.com/ to check the search “Pulse” of popular products.

Once you get there it will tell you the 10 most popular items on all of eBay, but you can narrow the products down by category by looking right above the header where it says “Popular Searches” and it says “Categories”. Click on the drop down menu and choose a category that interests you. Once you go to the next page it lists the 10 most popular searched for products for that category. Click on any of those results and it will take you to a list of currently selling products. To see what has sold in that category just do a “completed listings” search on the Advanced Search page (see below).

Checking What the Buyers Want

To find out what is actually Selling on eBay go to the eBay home page at eBay.com. At the top on the right side of search box is the link to “advanced search”. Click on it to go to the next page.

Enter your keyword (your product you are researching) in the box and check off the “completed listing “box under the “Search Included” category. Next make the default search for “exact words”in the box next to the one you enter the keyword into. There are ways to further narrow down your results, but I suggest you not do that for the first search. Later you can narrow it down if the results are too general to find what you are looking for. You never can tell what other niches you may discover if you leave it as a general search first. The results will show you whether it sold or not – price in green means sold, price in red means it didn’t sell. It will also tell you how many bids it received and when it sold. Generally speaking you want to see at least a 50% sell rate. From this result page you can also click on any of the listing and see the exact listing they used to sell with.

This is all great information for you to sift through and determine if this is a niche or product you want to pursue. At least it can tell you what is hot on eBay right now.

Adam Ginsberg PowerSeller Secrets

Adam Ginsberg PowerSeller Secrets

I know Adam Ginsberg has seen this on eBay – and if you’ve spent as little as 30 minutes on eBay – you’ve probably seen the logo identifying an eBay user as a PowerSeller.

There are certain requirements you need in order to become a money making power seller giant on eBay, and ultimately own a wholesale empire through successful selling.

Have you had a chance to read Adam Ginsberg’s new, best selling book 101 Secrets of an Auction Millionaire?

Power seller Secret Number 1:  In order to start in the right track for a successful eBay power selling experience you need to know learn how to do online research. It is truly vital that once you decide to start a business, you start with the vital step named “research”.

How to do online eBay research? While there are many tools you can purchase to save time with eBay research, you should first understand how to do it successfully the manual way.

First, you need to go to eBay’s home page and on the left side of the main page you will see multiple categories. You will then search and locate a category, once you have located the appropriate category for your niche, you will do a search on eBay for main keywords relating to that niche category you have selected and see how much popularity and competition there is for that certain category.

If you did a search and found over 20,000 or more listings for that certain keyword and niche, you know that you find a profitable niche, however, the only draw to such niche is that competition is very high. If you are a seasoned starter on eBay, I will not recommend starting up a business in such high competitive category since you are most likely to stumble hard at the beginning and most likely will end up later on saying, that making an online business on eBay does not work and that the ultimate way to profit from it, is if you started from the beginning, big time myth. I have mad e$1,000′s by selling in high competitive niches, you just need to do the right research and get some background experience to support possible flaws you will possibly encounter.

So my recommendation for your first step. Do a wide research relating your item that you feel passionate and try it only if you already have some selling experience on such auction portal. An experience seller is someone that has at least 200 feedback or more. If you are starting on such auction giant, start making your own garage sell and learn how selling process works by trying different selling angles, presentations and items. You will plenty of experience by then.

Power seller Secret Number 2: Selecting a real wholesaler or distributor. It is imperative to choose a correct wholesaler or distributor for your item(s). Today, there are hundreds if not thousands of middleman scams in the wholesale industry. It is vital that you know your potential wholesaler and distributor background. How do you search for such hidden gems?

Again, you can do it manually or you can pay for a list of potential distributors in your field. However, be warned that 98% of those wholesale list around the same eBay search are completely outdated and incorrect, just to confirm it in fancy words.

You need to know that a real wholesaler does not advertise on the search engines of the Internet. They don’t need to. A real distributor as well a genuine wholesaler gets plenty of business already from offline corporations. It is imperative that you understand this fact.

So how do you find one for your eBay experiment? You search for a top dollar wholesale list that can support their claims or reach a top successful seller to advice you in exchange of compensation.

I have done both, and thanks to it I have been very much profitable for it. The simplest way to get a good list of a true distributor and wholesaler is to pay an authority wholesale company or guy for this. Many successful business entrepreneurs will be willing to give a list of phone numbers and website address to get more information and top sources for different kind of items. Make sure to offer top dollar for this and they will most likely give you such sources as most of the business starters that ask for such list, never take the business serious or make it because they don’t follow the top step mentioned above.

The other way around is to send the eBay seller an email asking him for a distributor list. As long as your business does not conflict with him or is potential competition to him, you won’t have a problem. Make sure to prepare a nice one hundred word letter with a simple inquiry.

Most people don’t follow these primary steps and fail. The steps probably look simple or ridiculous, but they work and I as many others had made $1,000′s on eBay thanks to following the right steps and correct diligence.

Buying a Good Digital Camera on eBay

Written by admin on . Posted in Secrets of an Auction Millionaire

Almost anyone who knows about Ebay will agree that it’s a great place to find great treasures. At least it’s a great place in most cases to find bargains. And sometimes these great deals end up as very bad ones. One of the first things I look at is the sellers reputation. Sometimes you can take a chance and buy items from sellers with less than 100% positive ratings, but you need to use caution when you decide to take that chance.

Recently my husband and I purchased an old digital camera on Ebay. Learn from our costly mistakes. When it comes to photography a digital camera really is an excellent choice. But there are many components to a digital camera that you must understand before you decide to buy a used digital camera on Ebay. If you are purchasing a brand new camera from a reputable seller, it should include a guarantee. In this case, it would be a wise decision to pay the extra dollar or two to get it insured.

If you are thinking of buying a digital camera or any camera for that matter, perhaps reading what happened to us will help you avoid the same mistakes we made.

My husband decided to buy an eBay Canon camera. He found one up for bid that included two extra lenses, a small tripod, and a really nice bag to carry all the items in. Sadly, the camera had many flaws not mentioned in the description. 1. One of the apertures in the lenses will not close, 2. One of the lenses will not screw into the camera properly. 3. The tripod legs will not stay down due to the plastic tighteners being warn out. 3. Not a single zipper of the 5 different zipper compartments of the bad work. So, no zipping up any of the pockets.

In addition to this I have excellent feedback. It is at 100%. I don′t want to lose my perfect feedback rating. So, the last problem with this purchase is that the seller has blackmailed us with the following statement sent to us via a note inside the camera bag:

“We will happily leave you with a 5 star feedback rating once you have left us with a 5 start feedback rating.”

In other words, “If you leave us bad feedback, we’ll do the same.”

Where did we go wrong? Here are some suggestion on how to avoid our costly mistake:

Sneaky Tactic Number 1. “We don′t know anything about these cameras… we didn′t test it…” etc… This is a really good clue that the seller knows something is wrong with the camera but wants to pass the problem on to you. Since they are forewarning you it “may″ not work, you can′t say they didn′t warn you. Avoid this seller.

Sneaky Tactic Number 2: Look at the picture and if you have questions, ask us. Well, this is another good way of letting you know that they don′t want to point out all the flaws, they want you to figure it out. Bad idea – buyer steer clear.

Sneaky Tactic Number 3: . If you are buying a digital camera from Ebay, ask lots of questions. There is no excuse to not testing a camera before selling it. Even if it is not digital a roll of film is under $5.00 and you do not have to pay for pictures that do not come out right. If it’s digital, make sure you ask about each feature. Do the features of each lens work, do the settings of the camera work correctly. Are there any problems that the seller has not mentioned in the description.

And lastly… Number Four – There is no excuse not to test an item like a camera, especially if it’s a digital camera. I know… this seems obvious but sometimes the excitement of something really cool or new and of course CHEAP, can really cloud your better judgement. Avoid a seller that doesn’t want to take the time to test the item first. Most likely they did test it and it failed the test.

My husband was so excited about getting this deal, and I was too busy to look it over, that we ended up buying something we’ll never use. It cost us $100.00 and the repair shop told us it would cost us $150.00 or more to repair the damages. It is a lessoned learned for both of us. You can avoid a bad eBay bad camera experience, if you follow some good guidelines and suggestions like those I have included in this article.

Ken Shorey asked:

The first Ebay merchants saw the writing on the wall. They understood the future business opportunities that were available on the small innocuous auction website. Today these entrepreneurs with the basic tools that Ebay provides have shaped and built a multi-million dollar giant that is
second to one.

Ebay challenged some prevailing assumptions about get rich quick
opportunities. The idea that ordinary people could create large incomes from a small investment of time and money seemed ludicrous. The idea sounded like an over hyped business ad in a sleazy business opportunity magazine. Today it is clear that the idea of Ebay as a business is lucrative.

As with any other business new business idea, people thought it could not done. But Ebay created an Internet community that has also created many profitable businesses for millions of entrepreneurs.
Ebay created a new generation of cottage industry merchants who now play a key role in generating new options, choices and opportunities for people around the world.

The level of success of some of the Ebay merchants is absolutely astounding. In fact the whole story of Ebay is rather amazing. The simple facts of how Ebay became Ebay reads like the perfect story of rags to riches. Of course the central character is the everyman who is just like you or me.

The hero of the story is Pierre Omidyar, an entrepreneur who had a vision and

One of the key components to the success of Ebay is the simplicity of use.
Using Ebay requires some basic typing skills and an item to sell. The simple day to day set up and delivery of products makes Ebay the perfect solution for a would be entrepreneur.

Ebay is a pioneer of the auction online business model. Ebay pioneered legitimate get rich quick opportunities. Ebay makes millions by giving entrepreneurs what they need to be successful. Finding Products to Sell on eBay

Written by admin on . Posted in Internet And Businesses Online

Nowshade Kabir asked:

Do you know how many people in US are earning their livelihood
with the help of eBay? According to a new survey conducted on
July 2005 by ACNielsen, a leading research firm, an astounding
724 thousand Americans respond that they rely on eBay for their
main or supplemental income. Apart from these professional
sellers, another 1.5 million people confirmed that they generate
additional income by selling goods on eBay. Last year alone,
around 150 million registered users have sold over US$ 34 billion
worth of goods on eBay. Isn’t it amazing?

Why entrepreneurs are flocking into eBay? Some of the reasons are
quite apparent.

• Starting a business on eBay is easy and quick

• You don’t require large investment

• Anybody can start an eBay business, no special skill is required

• You can sell virtually anything on eBay

• With your eBay business you can have flexible work time

• You have a ready-made market of over 150 million people and
counting

• eBay get 1.5 billion page views each month. You get access to
this massive traffic almost paying nothing.

So, there is no wonder that anybody with slightest penchant to
have their own business will jump into this great opportunity.
But, there are two major problems that many of the would-be eBay
sellers encounter. The first is what to sell and the next is
where to find it.

What to sell?

According to Forrester Research, a major research company, this
year, categories with products purchased by women will have the
most growth in online retailing. Some categories are already
getting more than ten percent of their overall sales through the
Internet, which include: computer hardware and software, tickets,
travel, books, consumer electronics, cosmetics and fragrances,
toys and video games, and flowers, cards and gifts. While
choosing items to sell on eBay, you should also explore the
features available on eBay and other places on the Internet that
show items people search and items people actually buy.

eBay has a complete section called “Seller Central” dedicated to
delivering utmost information to help you succeed in selling
products through eBay. Two links from this section should
interest you. One is What’s Hot
(http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html) and the other
one is Category Tips
(http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html).

When you go to the subsection ‘What’s Hot’, check out the
following three areas:

Hot Items by Category

This is a comprehensive report of categories, and products within
a category by the ratio of bid to listings growth rate in PDF
format. The report gets updated monthly and shows which products
have increased demand in comparison to last month. Super hot
products, for example, have over 35 percentage point difference
between bid growth rate and listing growth rate. According to the
latest report, by the way, Sunglasses for men, in particular
Prada sunglasses are super hot.

eBay Pulse

This is another area where you can see the top ten searched
categories, ten most widely watched auctions, list of stores with
most active listings, and other cool stuffs on daily basis.

eBay Summer Catalog

This is a new subsection. It’s a real catalog with pictures and
average price of products. In each category of products there is
a list of top ten summer trends. You, definitely, should check
this out if you are planning to start selling now.

In Demand

On the page “Category Tips” under each category you will see a
link under the name “In Demand”. This area will show you a list
of ten most sold items of this category as well as most searched
items for each subcategory.

You might also like to see what people buy on non-eBay part of
the Internet. The Shopping.com Consumer Demand Index (CDI)
([http://www.shopping.com/CDI/cdi.cmp]) makes a weekly list of
most sought after items. This list could give you the needed
glimpse to the future market trend!

Where to find items to sell on eBay

Your own home

If you are just planning to start selling on eBay, your first
option is to go through your attic, closets and garage. Find
those long stashed items that you will probably never need. These
may include: books that you will perhaps never read, CDs that you
out grew, gifts that you received but did not like much, the list
can go on! Take them out, brush them off and post them on eBay
for sell.

Flea markets and garage sales

Every body knows that garage sales and flea markets can be real
treasure troves! Well, now you can look at them from a business
point of view. Your sales experience with own home items,
hopefully, will help you understand what will sell well and what
won’t. Don’t go for any costly items as yet.

Local liquidators and auctions

Classified sections of local Newspapers’ week-end editions are
good place to look for estate auctions. While buying items from
local auctions determine what are you going to buy and for what
price beforehand and stick to them no matter what! At an auction
there is always a risk of getting carried away!

Go visit some local business liquidators. These are excellent
places to find items for bargain price.

Drop shippers (http://ezine.rusbiz.com/article/39)

When a manufacturer, wholesaler, distributor or importer, after
receiving an order from their retailers, individually pack and
deliver the product to the customer of the retailer with
retailers address as shipper, this selling technique is called
drop-shipping. This is an excellent way to find products to sell
on eBay. Drop ship source directory
(http://www.worldwidebrands.com/wwb/?8188) is the place to go if
you are looking for drop-shippers.

eBay

eBay itself can be a great sourcing place for you. Check out
wholesale items and eBay business marketplace from your chosen
fields. In order to find wholesale listing, while searching a
product select “Items listed as lots”. You can buy goods in
wholesale and then sell them piece by piece and make decent
money. Of course, you have to develop good knowledge of the
products before doing this.

If your business has grown and you are considering importing
products to sell on eBay, read my article “Importing Products to
sell on eBay” (http://ezine.rusbiz.com/article/52).

The bottom line is there was never a better time to start a
business. If you feel this is really your cup of tea, just go for
it!

What It Costs to Use eBay

Written by admin on . Posted in Internet And Businesses Online

Andrew Milburn asked:

A very common question that people ask is “What does it cost to use eBay?” and when you give them the answer very often they ask, “Why does eBay cost so much?” When you first look at those two questions they look very different, but once you start to answer them, they are almost the same.

Before we go into the first question, let us look at the second question, “Why does eBay cost so much?” the answer is for what you get the charges are very small. Where else can you list an item and within minutes of it being listed it is on view to millions of people all around the world. eBay drives massive amounts of traffic to the platform every second of the day. They use many different streams to bring viewers and buyers to the site. On top of this you have the payment process, emails, security and the brand name eBay. This all costs money, and when you look at the bigger picture, you are paying very little.

Also when eBay put’s up their charges there is always an outcry from people this will ruin my business, how can they do this. Ladies and gentlemen, eBay is a business and they have a business to run and at the end of the year they need to show a profit; please grow up and get over the charges, it is all part of business. And if this tiny increases are enough to harm the profits of the products you sell, either up your prices or find another product, it is that simple.

What it costs to use eBay?

This is a question that cannot really be answered in just short article and it also depends on where you live in the world as each eBay country has different charges and different ways of applying these charges to your eBay listings. But we can look at the question from another angle that should help you make a profit on eBay. To start with there are charges and you need to look at these and build the listing fees, final fees, any extra fees and PayPal fees into your business plan.

But there are other fees that people sometimes forget and can mean the difference between a profit and a loss.

Your Time - You need to factor the time it takes you to list an item, make up the parcel and get the item ready for the post office

Delivery Charges – Spend some time and research the best way to send the item that allows the item to get there on time and at a cost that is good you the seller and also the buyer

Package Items – You also need to allow the costs for items such as boxes, bubble wrap and labels

Internet – Also you need to work out the costs of being online

All these little extra’s may be pennies or a bit more over time if you have got them wrong you could be selling at a loss. This is why it is so important to check your numbers on a regular basis and also keep accounts up to date. By doing this you can see at a glance where the losses are and where the profits are.

Who Uses eBay And Why

Written by admin on . Posted in Business

William King asked:

eBay is the number one international market place for all types of products over the Internet. eBay is an online retailer or ‘e-tailer’ that offers people the opportunity to sell and buy goods online. The site charges a commission on sales as well as a charge for listing. eBay typically works through an auction model – i.e. items are auctioned to the highest bidder. The seller can also specify a price below which the item cannot be purchased. You can find almost anything on eBay, and a large proportion of online shoppers know about this website.

eBay is used mostly by small start up businesses, many of which operate from home. There are a number of success stories on eBay, since it enables people to set up a small business and grow it into an online shop. There are actually businesses making millions of dollars, all through their eBay store. The typical success story runs like this: a regular person, just like you and me, looking for a great product, hits on one either on his own or through an eBay search for the hottest items. He finds a source for it and puts it up for auction on eBay. As his sales grow, he sets up a shop on eBay and uses the item listings on eBay to drive traffic to his site. This can be antiques, designer bag replicas, DVDs, almost anything. The market is virtually limitless.

The reason for the popularity of eBay is the convenience and cost savings. You can start from your own home, with absolutely no investment – you don’t even have to give up your day job. Further, due to its wide network, eBay can give your products and your online business much needed visibility for a small cost. The amount of effort and money you would expend on marketing for even an online business, to create awareness for your product, would be much greater. A huge Internet population shops here, so it’s like having your product on display at the biggest department store in the world, except that it would be much easier for a buyer to find it.

Further, people who sell on eBay claim that it is a large, helpful community that will enable you to learn from your peers and grow as an online business owner. There is an eBay University, chat rooms and forums for members to interact and educate themselves through others’ experiences. Also, since you have not invested much, there is room to make mistakes and learn as you grow.

eBay has all the technology in place that helps you to have your own online business, without the hassles and knowledge required to run a site. It is a very user friendly site and makes the buyer’s experience comfortable, which is important for your online business. For instance, eBay has features that allow a buyer to place a maximum bid on an item and automatically monitor the activity on the item till bidding closes. So selling is made that much easier for you on eBay.
